In Feb 2018, London Transport Museum in collaboration with Arup, Gowling WLG and Thales UK will publish a report on the Future of Urban Mobility. We will host three discussion events as part of our Interchange thought leadership programme, followed by a workshop to discuss the main research themes. A write-up of the discussions will be made available following each event.

On Tuesday 4th July, we discussed “How will changing user demands and expectations change our core transport system“. Chaired by Mark Garrity, Strategy, Sales & Marketing Director at Thales UK, the panel members were Richard Bruce, Director of Energy, Technology & Innovation at Department for Transport, and Dr Ron Oren, Principal Analyst (Strategy) at Transport Systems Catapult. The event was attended by 30 senior stakeholders from across the transport industry. Our wide-ranging discussion coalesced around five interlinked topics: cities, regulation, user data, future wants and needs and the role of technology. The arguments and perspectives of the group are summarised in the following event report: Future of urban mobility_Changing user demands, 4 Jul 2017

About Interchange

This event is part of London Transport Museum’s Interchange thought leadership programme; a series of lively, thought-provoking and informed discussions and debates for leading thinkers and decision-makers to consider the challenges and opportunities facing cities, transport and infrastructure, today and tomorrow. These invite-only events are a benefit of Corporate Membership and are attended by senior decision-makers from TfL and across the transport industry. The events deliver on-going opportunities for building new business, cementing relationships and sharing latest ideas and thinking.
