Smart Futures, Smart Travel
Our latest Interchange event series, Smart Futures, explores how technological change will reshape key aspects of how we travel, how we work, and the very fabric of our cities. What will a Smart future look like and how will we get there?
In the first of three roundtables, held on 13 June, we explored technological change and its impact on the journeys we make and how make them.
Key issues for discussion included:
- How will digitally enabled vehicles change what trips we will make and how we will make them?
- Could these vehicles and technological change more unlock road pricing and how we finance our transport networks and infrastructure?
- How technology will help us to determine what infrastructure and transport services are needed?
- Cyber security – how can we make the most of new technology while keeping passengers (and their data) safe?
A summary of the discussion can be found here: Smart Futures_Smart Travel, 13 June 2018
The next event in the series takes place on Thursday, 12 July and will focus on the topic of Smart Cities.
